musicality.

So, I have been listening to the new album by Fleet Foxes called Helplessness Blues. Needless to say, I am amazed. Robin Pecknold has a voice unlike any other and it has this raw beauty about it. The band has a unique way of harmonizing with eachother to make music pure art. I love this album, and I love this artist. I wish that I could express my music the way that I feel it, but that seems far fetched right now. Hopefully someday I will be able to let everybody feel what I feel about music....I just LOVE music and it seems like there is nothing I can do about it. Hopefully Arcade Fire will bring about some inspiration huh Kat?

Much to my sisters dismay.....

I don't blog enough. That's probably because

nothing all too interesting happens in my life these days. However, spring

is on the horizon and with  good weather comes great adventures. 

Yesterday, was a beautiful, sunny, Sunday. I took the time to  go outside

in my backyard, and simply lay on the grass with my dogs. The feeling of

the sun on my face was amazing, and it got me really excited for spring/summer.

ROXY. My beloved pup....

They loved the sunshine, too.

I have my own personal list of what I want to get accomplished this summer...

1. Earn as much money as currently possible.

2. Look for a place to move out. (if number 1 permits)

3. Drive to the countryside and visit my family.

4. Take as many pictures as I can.

5. Progress in making more music with Kaitie, maybe even an EP.

6. Go to all the good concerts, not missing a beat.

7. CALIFORNIA!!!!! Self explanatory

8. Swim lots and lots, go to sliding  rock, provo river, and any other body of water.

9. Hang out with my sisters, and family.

10. Have the best summer of my young life.

I SHOULD have my new laptop by then, so it will be a lot easier to blog more frequently...

 I have recently decided I have a love for drawing

and creating art. David Bowie, is my very favorite

subject to draw because he has so many different

looks and styles. All of  them are so unique, and 

highly incredible. I am currently drawing Bowie 

as Aladdin Sane...here's what I've got thus far.

 

A work in progress, but I am excited for it to turn out.

Especially classic rock, and ESPECIALLY David Bowie.

His music reminds me of a better time, an era 

in which I wish I had lived.

He is an absolute musical genius, and an inspiration to me.

Who knew?

Today I was inspired to make a blog.

So I did just that.

Here's to the beginning, of a documentation 

of my mysterious mind.

Let's get this show on the road...

 My best friend Kaitie and I are in a band.

-Kodiak.

We released the demo of our first song called "Slumber" 

and I am touched to say the least. 

The turn out has been amazing, and we are inspired to create more.

Music isn't just...music to us.

It is part of who we are.

When I listen to music I feel it.

The best artists write and play music with 

a deep love and passion for their songs.

The best artists have the ability to get others to 

feel their emotions through their song,

and often move them to tears. 

                                                       -That right there, would be our goal.

Kaitie and I are alike in the sense

that many songs bring us to tears

solely because music IS our passion.

The music lives in us.

It is definitely beneficial to be best friends with 

someone as talented as Kaitlan Ann Forbes.
